1:1 Spiritual Direction (In Person)
Examine and explore your relationship with yourself, the world, and the Divine.
Service Description
One on one Spiritual Direction involves holding space for you to examine and explore your relationship with yourself, the world, and the Divine. It is a safe space to express your questions, doubts, fears, joys, and spiritual experiences and be deeply listened to. In Direction you have the freedom to explore new ideas without fear of judgment or correction. It is a place to pay attention to the movement of the Spirit in your life. The role of the director is not to judge, teach, or advise, but to hold space for you to explore your relationship with the Divine. My education and life experience enable me to listen with deeper understanding to the joys and challenges of: · Missionary life and serving in church/parachurch positions · Re-entry into your Passport country after living abroad · Evangelical Mennonite Deconstruction, shifting understandings of traditional Evangelical Mennonite faith. · Grief and loss of community due to geographical move or spiritual shift I have a continuously growing faith in the Trinitarian God that embraces Feminist, egalitarian, liberation and eco-theology, as well as an LGBTQ+ affirming theology. _____________________________________ Confidentiality & Ethics What is discussed during Spiritual Direction sessions will remain confidential. Although at times discussions of personal and relational difficulties happen in the context of spiritual direction, I am not a psychotherapist, nor do I provide such services. The nature of the relationship between Directee and Director is held by mutual trust and agreement. I invite open communication to discuss expectations and outline desires for Spiritual Direction at any time. After 6 sessions together I will initiate a mutual discernment of how our time is meeting expectations and hopes for Spiritual Direction to determine how to best proceed. Please see the Ethical Guidelines of Spiritual Direction. For more information on the ethical guidelines I follow in my practice.
