About

Stud Earrings made from the off-cuts of rivets I use in affixing basket handles and making leather key fob/wristlets. These rivet scraps, which would otherwise be tossed in the trash, are hammered and sanded into a 'perfectly imperfect' shape, set on surgical steel posts and finshed with a silicone backing.

The studs are a small, yet bold statement of the zero waste philosophy, an embodiment of the eco-chic lifestyle. They are a wearable testimony of the beauty of recycling, reducing, and re-purposing.

Made in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Care Instructions:
The metal used to create these studs are not treated and therefore will oxidize and change color with use. If you wish to recover the original shine and colour, there are many home remedies online using basic ingredients from your kitchen to treat copper and brass.

Alternatively, I like to use a simple piece of sand-paper to lightly sand the earring face. The grit of paper will influence the final finish. For this size of earring i would recommend finer grit.

The posts for these earrings are affixed with a dab of Gorilla Glue. Should your post come off, you can repair them yourself in the same way. #repairingiscaring
